Weston racing driver Will Burns took two well deserved podium places at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

WESTON-born Will Burns completed at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for the first time and took two well deserved podium finishes in the Ginetta Challenge series.

In the first of the three 20-minute races, Will avoided trouble on the tight circuit to bring his Ginetta G40 home in third. Following a challenge on the racing standards of the winner, Will found himself catapulted into second, his highest ever finish.

In the second race Will knew he had to play a tactical game to ensure a good final race starting position and he did well to maintain fifth place, up from eight.

There was further excitement in the next race, with Burns ideally placed to take full advantage of any mistakes by the front runners.

He went out hard and drove a truly professional race, taking full advantage of his increasing pace to make a perfectly timed over-taking manoeuvre on the championship leader. He then held his nerve to secure a well-deserved third place and his second podium of the weekend.

Will is in his first full season in the Ginetta Challenge and his performance at Cadwell Park was another improvement on his last outing at Brands Hatch.
