WESTON Squash & Racketball Club junior squad start the new season with coaching sessions on Tuesday evenings between 4.15-6.15pm.
The club, next to Weston Cricket Club, also run a family evening on Sundays 6.30-8pm. They have a thriving junior section with children aged seven to 17 and welcome girls and boys from beginner to county level.
Each year the club holds a closed tournament at the end of the season. The last tournament was well attended with one main tournament and one individual event for the beginner/intermediate group.
The main tournament was won by Patrick Rice with Andrew Risdell as runner-up. Zak Johnson won the intermediate award with Matthew Parkhouse second.
The coaches’ award went to Jonny Hale. He was the most improved player over the year and showed outstanding sportsmanship.
