WESTON open their season in National 3 (South West) when they entertain Maidenhead on Saturday and there will be two new faces in their back division.

Former Bristol Academy player Lee Voisey will line up at full-back and Steve Lang, who has played at Llanelli and Ebbw Vale, will join James Mackay and James Reid in midfield.

Josh Mortimore will make his first start at scrum-half and returning to the pack will be George Sparks and former skipper Mervyn Down who will play at No 8 and tighthead prop respectively.

The kick-off at the Recreation Ground will be at 3pm. The United play Clifton in a friendly starting at 2.30pm while the Athletic travel to Bridgwater for their opening match in Somerset 2 (South).

WESTON have been drawn at home to Burnham in the first round of this season's Somerset Cup.

The match will take place on Sunday, November 22. The remainder of the draw in the 16-club competition is: Bridgwater v Walcot OB; Keynsham v Frome; Yatton v Hornets; Minehead Barbarians v Old Redcliffians; Taunton v North Petherton; Ivel Barbarians v Oldfield OB; Tor v Clevedon.

The other rounds will be quarter-finals, Sunday, January 3; semi-finals, Sunday, February 6; final, Sunday, February 28.
