NAILSEA'S football stars of the future will be playing in a brand-new kit next season, thanks to award-winning local coach operator Bakers Dolphin.

Nailsea United Junior Football Club has been established since 1974, and its Under -7s side has taken delivery of new light blue kit with the Bakers Dolphin logo on the shirts as part of a 1,000 sponsorship package sealed with the coach firm.

The directors of Bakers Dolphin live in Nailsea and agreed to supply new kit for the team after hearing that the old club strip was wearing thin after years of good service.

Last year Bakers Dolphin helped the Church Lane pre-school group with a 1,000 donation towards an outside play area for more than 50 pre-school children at Holy Trinity Church in Nailsea, and this year decided it was the turn of the football team to benefit.

Bakers Dolphin, with its headquarters in Weston, picks up in Nailsea, Clevedon and Portishead for coach tours throughout Britain and Europe. It also operates a number of the school bus services in the area and provides coaches for private hire.

Director Amanda Harrington said: "We want the boys to look smart when they are representing Nailsea and who knows playing in the new kit may help to inspire a multi-million pound footballer of the future.

"We bought the new kit through Promotional Peaks in Backwell so that has also supported a local business. We have had a lovely thank you card from the boys."

Team manager Mark Evans said: "The old kit was on its last legs and with shirt sponsorship the boys look like a professional club. We tried out the kit for the first time at a tournament this week and now the boys can't wait for next season to start. We can't thank Bakers Dolphin enough for their generosity and support.
