Several new teams will be joining the Vanarama Conference South for the forthcoming 2016/17 season.

Promoted from the Southern League are Poole Town and Hungerford Town, while Hampton & Richmond Borough, who were relegated some seasons ago, are back up from the Ryman League, along with East Thurrock United.

Promoted to the Conference National are Sutton United and Maidstone United, while Havant & Waterlooville, Hayes & Yeading and Basingstoke Town are all relegated.

Of the four clubs relegated from the Conference National, three, FC Halifax Town, Altrincham and Kidderminster Harriers will have to move to Conference North, with Welling United moving to Conference South.

This will leave an imbalance in the numbers, so possibly either Gloucester City or Worcester City may be transferred to Conference South.
