WESTON Tennis Club is delighted to announce a new 1,000 sponsorship deal with Mercedes-Benz of Weston

This latest development expands on the club's existing close links with Mercedes-Benz.

Club coach Mike Rakosi said: "I am delighted Mercedes-Benz of Weston have chosen to support Weston Tennis Club and junior tennis in the town. The funds will be used to develop local talent in Weston through a series of coaching initiatives including the provision of a number of discounted memberships to junior players via the LTA's and Weston Tennis Club's schools coaching initiative.

"We have a good crop of youngsters coming through and I hope more juniors will come and try out the club. We offer courses for all ages and abilities and the emphasis is on having fun and helping adults and juniors to realise their potential."

Additionally, interested adults and young people will have an opportunity to try out the club without charge or obligation to join on the May 16 between 10am- 4pm when the club has an open day at its courts in Neva Road.

Rackets and balls will be available and the club coach and committee members will be on hand to offer advice on potential membership and coaching.

The club has several sessions for casual play for adults and juniors, including evening play under the recently installed floodlights. There are also a number of coaching sessions for individuals and groups of all ages throughout the week.

For those looking for more competitive play, the club has five men's league teams and two ladies teams.

Throughout the winter, the club ran a popular box league with organiser, Rob Gilbraith, recently losing the number one spot to Nick Evans. The box leagues will continue throughout the summer in addition to the popular annual club tournaments.
