The first round of the North Somerset Netball Academy trials took place on the outdoor courts @Worle, who have kindly supported the launch.

Over 80 girls took part in the trials to form a North Somerset representative netball team, coached and assessed by seven well-known local coaches.

The project run by Lynne Giles and Michelle Hambley, aims to offer a development pathway for talented netballers in the North Somerset area, following aspects of an educationally backed elite athlete programme.

The academy will offer player centred coaching following clear personal development plans to every player delivered by fully qualified UKCC coaches.

The final trial will take place on August 30 for the remaining places in the academy and anyone interested in getting more details can register on the North Somerset Netball Academy Facebook page.
