WESTON Tennis Club is holding its annual Open Day on Sunday, May 16, between 10am and 4pm at its courts in Neva Road, close to the train station. The club coach and committee members will be on hand throughout the day to offer advice on membership and coaching opportunities.

Club chairman Bob Wilson said: "The club hopes the open day will attract new members and encourage adults, families and young people in the community to use the impressive new floodlit facilities. The club run a total of seven league teams in the summer and this, along with our extensive coaching programmes, fun tournaments and social sessions means there are ample opportunities for beginners and experienced players alike to enjoy their tennis.

"We pride ourselves on being a friendly, community based club in the heart of the town and the open days are a regular annual event designed to give people the opportunity to come along for a fun taster session without obligation to join. We are hoping for good weather and look forward to a good turn out."
