Winscombe Bowling Club is holding an open day on July 3.

Have you ever considered playing bowls? If so, now is your chance to try it.

Winscombe Bowling Club is holding an open day on July 3 between 10am and 5pm. Bowls is a sport which attracts both young and old, men and ladies, boys and girls, playing at a competitive level or just for fun.

Winscombe boasts one of the finest greens in the county with experienced coaches able to assist any beginner to reach a high standard of play. You will meet other bowlers who will be more than happy to explain the game and assist with instruction.

Age is no obstacle and Winscombe have a 17-year-old who plays for the Somerset under-25s team and has been playing since he was nine. So bring the kids along to have a go. All you need is some flat soled shoes or trainers.

However, if you are not able to attend on the day, contact Robin Lowman on 01275 874850 or Paul Fredersdorff on 01934 822240, who can arrange for free coaching on an alternative day.

The club also has a social programme of activities running throughout the year.
