THE Minehead shoreline saw the latest leg of the Angling Trusts 7x7 sea angling match.

Clubs affiliated with the Angling Trust (formerly the National Federation of Sea Anglers NFSA) are asked to enter a team of seven from their club to pit their wits against each other. Around 40 keen anglers entered this competition.

The individual winner was well known local angler Ken Hucker from Weston SAA with a mixed bag of dogfish, silver eel and pouting, second was Weston Outcast chairman and England ladies' coach Stuart Withyman who managed to catch a smoothound of around 8lbs. Third was Weston Outcast Neil Apperley.

The overall team competition was won by the Weston Outcasts who are showing again to be right up their as the team to beat in the Bristol Channel. Keep an eye out for more matches in and around the area.
