Hornets Under-15s defeated Thornbury, with five tries for Paddy Holyday.

HORNETS Under-15s started the season in sparkling form, scoring 11 tries against Thornbury in fantastic conditions at Hutton Moor.

Hornets started at a ferocious pace and Thornbury were forced into conceding a penalty. Holyday made a strong run to score under the posts, converted by Humphris. Soon after, a break by Solomon and a flip inside found Holyday to go over for his second, converted by K Williams.

From the restart, good work by Eades, K Williams and Turner and Francis set up Solomon to finish a great team try. Thornbury replied with a try before Francis scored again. Thornbury scored again, but Hornets hit back with tries by Holyday and Cocking.

After the break, there were further tries for Holyday, Richardson, Cocking and Taylor, with conversions by K Williams and Humphris as Hornets ran out 65-14 winners.

Special mention to Paddy Holyday on his five tries and who, along with Richardson and Francis, were magnificent as a back row unit. Hornets would like to wish Jack Higgins a speedy recovery.

The Under-15s would like to thank Wayne Entwistle from the Grand Atlantic Hotel for their generous sponsorship for this season.
