Weston Croquet Club saw a new winner for the prestigious Daphne Holland Shield.
DESPITE a week of appalling weather which led to the cancellation of two league matches, Weston Croquet Club managed to run the prestigious Daphne Holland Shield tournament.
This year produced a new winner for the first time in three years, club stalwart Peter Aynsley was a popular winner amongst club members.
Peter won a three match final beating Bill McAllister 2-1. The plate competition was won by Judith Hutton beating Sandra Cox in the final. A good day of competition was aided by the rain holding off until the presentation to the winners by club president Peter Nisbet.
