Avon Ski Club’s Peter Kennel has recently been awarded the young volunteer of the year award, a prestigious prize.

AT the recent Snowsport England Awards, Avon Ski Club’s Peter Kennel was awarded Young Volunteer of the Year, a prestigious award and a wonderful achievement for Peter.

As well as receiving a cut glass trophy, Peter was presented with a certificate, which Graham Bell (Olympic skier and BBC Ski Sunday presenter) was delighted to sign, who congratulated Peter on his achievement. The award also came with a cheque for �200 to be spent with Bartletts Ski, one of the main sponsors of the awards.

Peter won the award for his dedication and support of the Avon Ski Team, and the West of England Ski Team, over many years as a volunteer and crucial part of the coaching team.

Peter will be once again be helping to coach and mentor the team’s on their next trip to Bulgaria in March, as well as his normal Tuesday and Thursday stints at the slope in Churchill.
