A coaching course at Woodland Tennis Club proved popular with over 30 children attending.
WOODLAND Tennis Club’s summer coaching course proved popular this year with over 30 children attending the four-day programme.
The younger children were kept busy practising their shots and developing racket control and spot prizes were awarded. The older group was divided into two teams and enjoyed competing against each other in matches as well as in skills challenges.
In a tense concluding match, the Federer team beat the Nadal team by just one game. Coach Viv Barber was impressed by the children’s enthusiasm. She said: “We have all enjoyed a great week of tennis. Everyone has worked hard to improve their game and managed to have lots of fun.”
Junior coaching continues throughout the year on Saturday mornings. For more information on the club and its activities, please contact Judy Cannon on 01934 629819 or visit the club’s website at www.woodlandtennisclub.co.uk
