Many anglers were unable to fish at Shiplate Farm Fisheries, due to the popular demand.
AN OPEN match on the Hawthorns at Shiplate Farm Fisheries proved so popular, many keen anglers were unable to fish, as the match entry was full within a few days.
Of the 15 anglers, it was Ritchie Hawkins who proved the worthy winner with a total weight of 105lb 4oz from peg nine. Ritchie fished the pole mid-water at 7m, fishing maggot and feeding maggot.
Results: R Hawkins (Bristol PO) p9, 105lb 4oz; R Peck (Thatchers Tackle) p1, 76lb 2oz; A France (Cadbury Angling) p15, 63lb 4oz; G Flinders p4, 61lb 12oz. Silvers went to Gordon Jones p11, 45lb 12oz.
