A local quarter raise money for ‘wounded wards’.
A LOCAL quartet from Weston, Caroline Milarski, Paul Swain, Neil Chaplain and Angler’s Mail reporter Derrick Palmer participated in a charity fishing event in Shropshire.
A charity match for the Belbroughton Scythe Fund, which donates money for the ‘wounded wards’ at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, was held at Poole Hall Fishery, at Alveley, Shropshire, which dates back to the Doomsday Book.
Over 1,200 was raised on the day, with Caroline raising an incredible 333 in sponsorship money. Thanks go to the people in Weston who sponsored the 44-year-old ‘lady of the lake’.
