Raddy just short

Raddys go agonisingly close to beating league leaders Bath.
WESTON Raddy’s took on leaders Bath in the Somerset Darts Super League.
The match started with captain Mike Harding putting Raddy’s 1-0 up averaging 22.43. Bath won the next two before Paul Smith levelled, Paul averaging a respectable 24.65.
Again the teams traded legs, Carl Evans notching for the home team hitting 11 tons in his 3-2 win. Bath took the next three ties to lead 6-3, but Adam McNally then led the fightback hitting a 15 dart leg, checking out on 100 and 121 and averaging a super 27.32.
Dave Sheppard then won a nail-biter 3-2 followed by the determined Chris Thomas who made the score 6-6 after the singles.
With the pairs to play, tension mounted. As before Raddy’s triumphed by 4-2 in the pairs. Winners were N May and A McNally 3-1, M Harding and P Smith 3-1, D Paul and C Thomas 3-2, and T Hayes and C Evans 3-0.
However, despite winning more matches, it is the legs that count and Raddy’s went agonisingly down by 35-36.
Captain Mike Harding heaped praise on to his team’s brave performance and took heart from the gutsy performance. Man of the match was Adam McNally, who excelled when it really mattered and is starting to live up to expectations.
