The first 20 minutes was a tough period for Worle as Peasedown showed their strength at set-pieces. Centre-backs Wilson and Bray dealt with the aerial threat and anything in the area was comfortably dealt with by an in-form Jakeman in goal. Westgarth and Williams worked in midfield, providing space for Young to use the ball well. Royce and Brinson combined well down the left, as did Nott and Chatterley down the right and Stephens’ pace caused problems for the home defence.
The second half showed a marked improvement in Rangers’ play and without compromising the strong defensive structure, they moved the ball forward well and showed more composure in the final third.

Imrie battled hard in the middle allowing Westgarth to move forward and Dale’s trickery was starting to create chances.
As the game moved into extra-time, Rangers committed more men forward and Dale’s 20 yard shot was tipped on to the post and Stephens was rewarded as he tapped home from a few yards out for the only goal of the game.
The whole of the 16-man squad did well, but special mention should go to keeper Jakeman and Westgarth for stand out performances, pipped only by the Curry Garden man of the match Dean Bray.
