The Somerset Rebels ended their northern tour with a victory over Glasgow.

THE Cases Somerset Rebels rounded off their three-match northern tour with a 10-point win away at Glasgow, giving the Rebels the maximum four league points to add to the point they earned at Berwick the previous night.

Olly Allen top scored with 12 points, well backed up Nick Morris (9), Brady Kurtz (9), Charles Wright (6+1), Pontus Aspgren (6+1) and Paul Starke (6+1).

Somerset’s win took them back to the top of the Premier League table, they holding on to top spot on race-points difference from Edinburgh, who drew at Newcastle 42-all.

The previous evening, the Rebels had lost 49-43 to Berwick, who are vying with the Rebels for a top two finish in the Premier League ahead of the Championship-deciding play-offs.

For Somerset, Allen was unbeaten and picked up 15 points and was supported by Morris (9), Todd Kurtz (6+1), Aspgren (5), Starke (4+2) and Brady Kurtz (4+1).

The Rebels started their long weekend of racing with a 55-39 defeat by the Edinburgh Monarchs.

Top scorers for Somerset were Nick Morris (14), Aspgren (9), Starke (5+1) and Wright (4+2).
