Somerset Rebels will introduce two new faces to British Speedway when they host the first leg of a South Western Challenge against National League side Plymouth on Wednesday (June 12).
Italian Nicolas Vicentin and Australian Zack Cook will pull on the Rebels colours for this meeting, with Garry May confirming that the necessary start permissions have now been finalised.
May said: "We had to ensure that all the paperwork was in place before we could make the announcement, but I am delighted to say that I have been granted the appropriate permissions to allow to use both these lads in our challenge match.
"Zack is coming over for the Under-21 World Team Cup final which is being held at Belle Vue in July and I am really looking to seeing how he rides. He is only 19 but I have had some good reports about him, and indeed his brother Ben, and I am sure that there will be many fans also keen to see this highly rated star in action.
"It is also good that we can take a look at Nicolas Vicentin who has been recommended to me by Nico [Covatti]. Nicolas is 25 years old and I believe he has ridden previously at King's Lynn in a World Team Cup qualifier a few seasons ago, but again it will be interesting to see how he goes around the Oaktree.
"Hopefully the chance to see some new talent will appeal to supporters and we can have a good turn out next Wednesday."
Cook and Vicentin will join Todd Kurt, Anders Rowe, fit-again Henry Atkins and Saul Bulley in the Somerset Select side, with May still to finalise the seventh rider for the Rebels.
Admission prices for this meeting have been set as £10 for all paying customers, with under-16s being admitted free.
