A record breaking number of juniors turned up at Woodland Tennis Club’s starter session.
AUTUMN may have arrived, but it has not dampened the enthusiasm of the juniors at Woodland Lawn Tennis Club in Weston.
A record breaking 36 under-8s turned out for the starter session on Saturday morning. It wasn’t only the youngest players who were in high spirits. Woodland’s older juniors were celebrating their successes in the West Somerset Junior League.
The 12 and under team won their division, while the 17 and under team were runners-up in theirs.
Club secretary, Annie Buckingham, was happy to see so many young players at the Club. She said: “It is amazing that so many juniors are still keen to play at this time of year. We are naturally proud of our juniors at Woodland.”
