Weston tennis player Maddox Gould won his first red ball tournament at Millfield School.
YOUNG Weston tennis player, Maddox Gould, aged eight, has won his first red ball tournament at Millfield School.
In a round-robin event, Maddox came through his group to reach the knockout stage. He was successful in both his semi-final and final matches, playing some excellent tennis along the way.
Maddox is coached by Weston Tennis Club’s head coach, Jamie Allen, who is impressed with his progress. Jamie said: “I have only been working with Maddox for six months. He has a lot of natural ability and has a bright future.”
Maddox followed up his win at Millfield by finishing as a runner-up at Martock two weeks later where in a strong field he beat a red one competitor.
