TEAM Mendip Red Sox kicked off the season with a fantastic 8-0 win over Bristol Ladies Union.
This was the Red Sox’ first-ever game in the Bristol Girls League and they would like to thank this season’s sponsor Neil Cunningham from Cunningham Safety Consultancy Ltd for their new kit.
Mendip took the lead with a stunning free kick from Lilly Stephens and took control of the game from that point on. Goals poured in throughout the rest of the game with Emily Mitchell taking the score to 2-0 after a great pass from Jennie Habbits.
Nikita Monk added two more goals taking the score to 4-0, with Dannye Fear and Habbits scoring excellent goals putting Mendip 6-0 up, leaving Stephens to complete her hat-trick.
The Cunningham Safety Consultancy player of the match went to Dannye Fear.
