A thrilling in-house duel was held at Weston Swimming Club.

AFTER a nip and tuck contest, it was Julian’s Reds that eventually overcame the mighty challenge of Phil’s Blues in a thrilling in-house development duel at Weston Swimming Club.

With 100 swimmers taking part and demonstrating the key swimming skills emphasised in the training programmes devised by head coach Rachel Aldington, a member of the England programmes coaching development team, the club is enjoying some of the best times ever in its glittering 135-year history.

Having sent record numbers of swimmers to national and regional events in the last year, the club achieved its highest Arena League finish just before Christmas and won the best team trophy at the recent TDS/Street Open Meet.

Now its swimmers are readying themselves for zonals at the Olympic Pool in Stratford, and closer to home, for the onset of the Somerset County Championships at Millfield.
