IN DIVISION 1, a new-look Totterdown Revolutions came back to the league with an 8-2 match win over top team Wins Renegades.

Ding Ming Lu won all his three singles without loss. Paul Hayward had a very close second game, just losing out 14-12, but won Renegades two points when he beat Kiem Mu in four and Ken Voong in three.

Hayward and Dave Williams won the first game in the doubles against Mu and Voong, but conceded 12-10 in the fourth.

In Division 2, evenly matched Cobras and Wayfarers enjoyed a tight match with every player winning at least one match. Wayfarers’ Simon Kneeshaw won all his, in three games against John Barker, but he needed the extra fourth game against Simon Thomas and Rick Hutchinson.

Top player for Cobras was Thomas, who beat both Rich Parker and Phil Yates in four. Kneeshaw and Parker were a winning doubles partnership beating Thomas and Barker 3-1 to settle the match for Wayfarers 21-17.

In Group B of the Archdale Cup, Winsc Wanderers had to keep the pressure up against Division 2 Vets C with their more favourable handicaps.

Wanderers’ Ray Jenkins (-2) won all three matches, beating John Barcham (9), Tony Chedgy and Mark Treasure both on 10. Wanderers’ Mark Ratatczak (-1) was just too strong against Barcham and Treasure, though he won the first against Treasure.

Dave Grounsell (1) clawed his way back against Chedgy and Treasure, beating Chedgy 20-21 in two and Treasure in three. Wanderers won 6-3.
