However this spurred Weston into action and they cut the deficit to five points when George Wright went round the home winger to score a try which was converted by Tom Main.Having played up the hill in the first half, Weston looked the likelier in the second half and when Chris Young went on a thrilling run which ended with him stepping the full-back to score under the posts, Main's conversion put Weston in the lead for the first time. After this following more pressure, Harry Warman went over following a mazy run for another try converted by Main. This left one final try which was scored by Henry Monelle following a great run by Ged Gibson. This was a great result for Weston against a strong Colts side on their home patch. Twenty four hours later it was a different story and Penryn proved to be worthy 27-10 winners with their speedy back three far too quick for a tired Weston. The Colts scored a couple of tries through captain Wheatley and Price from the front row, but apart from that there was little to remember apart from a fine performance by Monelle who shone in four different positions during the game.
