Gordano 27 pts

Chipping Sodbury 24 pts

Gordano picked up an important home bonus point win when they hosted Chipping Sodbury in a entertaining match.

With lots of rain about in the build up to the game you would expect a low-scoring game, but both teams started brightly and after 15 minutes, four tries had been scored.

Gordano took the lead after Noah Homes-McAdam sprinted thought a hole opened up by fly-half Rowsell, the conversion added by Dyer.

Sodbury hit back straight away to score in the corner but the conversation was missed. Gordano again were on the scoresheet with second row Royce Chiddle powering over, this time the conversion was missed. Sodbury used their power runners again to get into the Gordano 22 and another try out wide made the score 12-10.

After the break, Gordano had a stiff breeze at their backs and used it well to get some good field positions, with the host’s defensive line-out all over.

With the pressure on Sodbury is was no surprise when Gordano added to their lead when Stuart Harris broke though the line to score. The home team were on the scoreboard again as Sam Hodge scored under the posts on his return from injury, who also added the conversion.

Gordano should have added to their try haul, but poor decision in the red zone cost them dear as Sodbury scored a breakaway try to bring the game back to within seven with 10 minutes left to play.

Gordano went on the attack and when Sodbury gave a penalty away, Hodge stepped up to give Gordano a buffer with only two minutes left. Sodbury were not finished and scored a last minute try which gave them two bonus.

This was a good win for Gordano who now move up to ninth in the league, On Saturday, they travel to Gloucester to play Chosen Hill.
