The game began brightly with Gordano attacking from the kick-off, forcing Crewkerne to step offside. The ball was pumped deep into the 22 for a line-out, which was cleanly taken by Sam Coles and driven for the line, Dicky Mason spun the ball wide, with captain Nick Walrond finding space to go over for the opening try. Crewkerne had obviously not read the script and came straight back, forcing a penalty in front of the posts to close the gap to two points. Gordano took the game back to Crewkerne, with Nick Stratton and Owen Taylor looking lively in attack and with a well worked back-row move Marcus Stratton crashed over from close range and Lee Palmer converted, but Crewkerne hit back with a converted try.Straight from the start of the second half, Palmer sent Luke Cleary cantering forward and with Paul Richards and Matt Rollings linking well from the breakdown, field position was created to release Walrond who went over under the posts, Palmer converting.A period of sustained possession followed, and while the Crewkerne defence kept Gordano at bay, pressure led to inevitable infringements and two sin binnings for Crewkerne. With their forward pack weakened Gordano took advantage for Neil Steer to cross over for Gordano's fourth try, again Palmer converting. Gordano would like to thank all those who have supported them this season and look forward to a good season in Somerset Premier next year. The traditional Over-30s against Under-30s fixture will be played on Saturday, the youngsters will be looking to turn around several years of losses with a kick-off at 3pm.
