After a quiet Thursday evening and early night on Friday, they travelled up the coast to Barcelona to face Quimic Equip Rugby.

The hosts were up for a physical battle, which came as a surprise to Hornets, who opened the scoring against the run of play.

QER hit back with a quick brace, but the visitors ended the first half with a slender lead.

And Hornets produced a strong second-half display to run in five more tries, to the home side's two, to claim a 41-20 victory.

The match was played in great spirit and post-match hospitality was outstanding.

“All in all, it was a great tour for the under-18 colts, which see most of the team leaving the Hornets youth section and progressing up to the seniors, some of whom have been with the club for 12 years, starting in the under-sixes,” said honorary secretary Steve Fairhurst.
