Weston full-back Ross Bennett played his 150th match for the first team in last Saturday’s encounter with Bridgwater.

WESTON full-back Ross Bennett made his 150th first team appearance in last Saturday’s match against Bridgwater at the Recreation Ground.

Epsom-born Bennett, aged 27, was educated at Bristol Grammar School and his club rugby commenced at Winscombe RFC at mini level to Under-15.

He then joined the Seasiders’ Under-16s squad and proceeded through the Colts before making his senior debut as a scrum-half against Oxford Harlequins in December 2006.

He made around 100 appearances in the No 9 jersey before switching two seasons ago. He has scored a total of 25 tries.
