Weston Wanderers dominated their latest league encounter against Wells.

Wells 3rds 7 pts

Weston Wanderers 74 pts

With a Wanderers side that did not resemble the side that started the season with at least eight new players, the team dominated in all facets of the game

The Wells side never gave up and put in some heavy tackling, and were led by a No 10 who was desperate to cause an upset, but the Weston side were too strong.

Weston scored 12 tries with three coming from centre Dan Berry who dominated the middle of the park. Lock Dan Denning had a rampaging game and touched down twice in quick succession, as did winger Joe McGrath.

There were also tries from Hancock, Filer, Hill and the pick by Darren Burns, who broke blind to score under the posts.

John Filer slotted all the extras and cunningly distributed the ball all afternoon. There was a great return for Jack Caufield, Ben James and James Harris.

The Wanderers are enjoying their rugby this season with a mixture of young and old. If you fancy a runabout on a Saturday, please give Tony Bush or Jamie Tuohy a call at Weston Rugby Club or visit the club’s website.
