Sam Osborne's penalty minutes later put Yatton on the board and for the next 20 minutes play became niggly, being addressed by the referee's authority. Osborne's second penalty conversion minutes before half-time eased the home side in front.A tough midfield battle continued for the third quarter with Stroud's heavy pack having the edge in scrums, but forcing the play up-field with rucks and mauls, Yatton were adjudged to have been held up between the opposition's posts.Yatton's pack achieved the nudge in the two resulting scrums with Nic Spellissey eventually grounding the ball and Osborne's conversion bouncing in off an upright. Both sides battled it out in this exhausting game for the remaining 10 minutes with Yatton retaining their top of the table position.
