Archant

Yatton under-16s fell to defeat against North Bristol in a hard-fought contest.

The visitors used their big forwards to good effect, before moving the ball wide and kicking over Yatton's defence.

Yatton absorbed lots of pressure and had the edge at the scrum, but were 29-0 down at half time as North Bristol countered well.

The home side took the game to their rivals in the second half, with captain Fin Skuse crashing over for a deserved try.

But that proved to be Yatton's only score of the game as North Bristol hit straight back with a try of their own.

A number of injuries did not help Yatton's cause, with players having to play out of position, and North Bristol capitalised in the final quarter.

Gaps opened up in the home defence and North Bristol were given too much space to run into, as they went on to complete a 56-5 victory.
