The Weston Whippets Running Group are pleased to be supporting World Mental Health Day, taking part in #RunAndTalk, an England Athletics campaign.

The Weston Whippets Running Group are pleased to be supporting #RunAndTalk, an England Athletics campaign, supported by Mind the mental health charity.

The event follows on from the successful #RunAndTalk event in February in support of Time to Talk Day which saw around 150 organised runs to support mental wellbeing through running.

It is supported by a network of over 350 volunteer England Athletics mental health champions who are active in affiliated athletics and running clubs and RunTogether groups across England to support those of us who are experiencing mental health problems.

The Weston Whippets are organising a run on October 10 at 7pm starting from The Landing Light Pub. The run will be 5k and will include options for walking, jogging and running so everyone is welcome whether you are new to running, looking to get back into it or a regular runner.

Shelley, Weston Whippets founder and group leader said: “We are so pleased to be able to offer this #RunAndTalk session. We have a fantastic group of mental health champions who have given so much of their time to plan this run.

“We are looking forward to welcoming individuals to our run and hope they find it useful to them as well as finding a group that is trying to break the stigma attached to mental health.
