Sam Stephens enjoyed an excellent first full year in competitive karting.
THIRTEEN-year-old Sam Stephens has had a brilliant first full year in competitive kart racing.
In the last round of the Dunkeswell Kart Racing Club Championships, Sam was on the pace on practice day and drove competitively on race day, but this time was beaten to the podium.
However, Sam has been on the podium a total of six times out of a possible eight during the season, achieving four second places and two third places, resulting in the Worle Community School student becoming the runner-up in the minimax class.
This has been a fantastic achievement for Sam who has shown great skill and determination to succeed, despite limited funds and lack of opportunity to practice regularly.
Sam has made a tremendous effort while still maintaining great results at school and would love to continue racing in 2012 and reach the elusive top of the podium.
Any offers of help or sponsorship, however small, to enable Sam to fulfil his potential would be appreciated. All enquiries to deb.stephens@sky.com
Thanks go to Team Traxxion and current support from Worle Autos, Barber Co and Demon Tweeks.
