SARAH Clark, of the Oldmixon and Uphill Karate Kai, competed in the Karate England Senior Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, and, proving her recent selection to the England squad was well deserved, swept the board to gain the gold medal in the 18-20-year-old female Under-60 kilo category. Not content with that, Sarah went on to win a silver medal in the senior ladies' category, putting up a brilliant performance in the semi-final where she sent English, European and World champion Natalie Williams packing. As this was Sarah's first attempt in the ladies' category, her results are even more exceptional. Karate England is the governing body for karate in England, supported by Sport England, and has over 130,000 members. Sarah's club trains at Oldmixon School on Wednesday evenings and Uphill Village Hall on Friday evenings.
