SHAUN Callaghan returned from Edinburgh with a gold medal in the Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships.
He recorded a personal best time in achieving the podium finish. This follows on from his earlier wins at the Welsh and Irish Championships.
The event on Sunday came at the end of a busy weekend for the Steepholme Pirate athlete. Shaun competed in Paris on Saturday at the European Championships, where he finished in a creditable fifth place.
Shaun then flew to Edinburgh for the Scottish event on Sunday at the Heriot-Watt University to defend his 40+ lightweight title.
He now takes a few days rest before supporting the Weston RNLI at their SOS day row-a-thon. This charity event takes place on Weston Grand Pier on Saturday. All are invited to come along to row and make a donation to the RNLI.
