Weston Football Club could not come to an agreement with Bristol City to stage a pre-season friendly this year.
WESTON Football Club has announced their pre-season programme does not include a friendly with Bristol City.
The clubs had provisionally agreed in February to host a friendly at the Woodspring Stadium, but could not come to an agreement.
However, they are scheduled to host Exeter City on July 15 (7.45pm), Cheltenham Town on July 18 (3pm) and Newport County on July 28 (7.45pm).
Away fixtures include: Shepton Mallet on July 21 (7.30pm), Willand Rovers, July 23 (7.45pm), Larkhall Athletic, July 25 (3pm), Chippenham Town, July 30 (7.45pm), Merthyr Town, August 1 (3pm) and Swindon Supermarine, August 4 (7.45pm).
So far eight of last season’s squad have committed to the club for the forthcoming season.
Captain Tom Jordan and fellow player/coach Clayton Fortune, along with Jake Llewellyn, Bradley Ash, Jake Mawford, Jacob Cane, Kane Ingram and Jamie Edge, will joined by new signings Scott Wilson (Paulton Rovers) and former Weston College tutor Daniel Wring (also Paulton Rovers).
To date only Joe McLennan (Bath City) and Aaron Brown (Paulton Rovers) have departed the Woodspring Stadium.
