FOR the second time in a week Weston Football Club had their Blue Square South game postponed because of bad weather.

On Saturday, both sets of players had just finished their warm-up exercises when the match referee called the game off just before the scheduled kick-off time of 3pm, explaining he was not happy with parts of the ground and said he called it off because of a safety aspect.

It is hoped the game will be re-arranged for Tuesday, December 15 (7.45pm).

Last week, Weston's game against Hampton and Richmond was similarly called off at the last minute by the match official because heavy rain an hour before the game resulted in water lying in a small part of the ground and there was no time for remedial work to be carried out.

No date has yet been decided for this game to be played.

On Saturday, Weston will be hoping to make it third time lucky. The game will go ahead when they travel to newly-promoted Staines for a rearranged fixture.
