From the side successful against Thurrock, Martin Slocombe gave way for Jamie Laird, Simon Gilbert came in for Brett Trowbridge and Sahr Kabba led the attack in place of Marcus Duharty.

In the first minute, Weston showed their intention by forcing the first of four corners when Nat Pepperell, who was man of the match, made a Maidenhead’s Bruce Wilson to turn the ball behind and from a goal kick following the second flag kick, Kabba charged down keeper Dexter Burt’s kick, forcing the keeper to tamely find touch.

Against the run of play, Maidenhead took the lead on 16 minutes, when a missed tackle on half way allowed speedy Sam Collins to burst down the left and beat Lloyd Irish. Ten minutes later, Weston equalised when Kabba’s pace put him behind the visiting defence and his low cross across the six-yard box was hammered past Burt by Pepperell.

Just before the interval, Collins had another good run down the left and he fired narrowly across goal.

Five minutes into the second half, Gilbert fed Laird for a run down the left, but Burt claimed the cross well. However, Weston took the lead on 54 minutes when Pepperell controlled a clearance wide on the right, found Laird on the left who made ground and laid off for Dayle Grubb to beat Burt.

The decisive goal came on 74 minutes when Kabba turned his marker and sent Pepperell on another run down the right. This time Kane Ingram, who starts a three-match suspension on Saturday, was on hand to fire past Burt.

The home goal had a let-off in added on time when Irish came off his line, but failed to connect with a cross which fell for substitute Kieron St Aimie, but Justin Porter hooked the ball to safety.
