Seagulls stars set for exit

WESTON are bracing themselves for the loss of two of the club’s top performers.

Star striker and fans’ favourite Sahr Kabba and influential midfielder Kane Ingram are both attracting admiring glances from clubs further up the footballing pyramid.

Although both recently signed new deals at the Woodspring Stadium, the club’s hierarchy admit it will be hard to keep the duo.

Enquiries have come in for former Bath City and Cinderford Town midfielder Ingram from an unnamed Blue Square South team.

Kabba, who fired 15 goals for the team in the 2011/12 season, has been attracting attention from several clubs in the Blue Square Premier and the football league.

Assistant manager Jon Haile said: “With Sahr having to move back to London to complete his studies we will reluctantly have to sell him to another club.

“However, we wish him every success because his education and career comes first and he is the nicest lad you could ever meet.

“His pace is devastating and the 15 league goals he scored last season came in around only 20 starts due to an early season injury.

“I just hope one of the football league clubs take a chance on him because his pace will be effective at any level in the football league.”

The club signed midfielder Ashley Kington and striker Chas Hemmings from Clevedon Town earlier in the week, and the Mercury understands that a third new signing could be imminent.
