Seasiders remain top of the super league

Weston defeated fellow promoted team Yeovil to remain top of the Super Darts League.

WESTON played at home against fellow Super Darts League promotion team Yeovil, who were behind the hosts in second spot.

Weston won the first game with Mike Norton (25.73) 4-2, but Yeovil fought hard and won the next few games, as the hosts trailed 8-15.

Seamus Slattery pulled out all the stops, hitting a 180 and winning 4-0 with a 25.44 average, but Weston promptly lost the next one, before Paul Griffiths also pulled out a 4-0 win, swiftly followed by Martin Vanedgemeister (22.63) hitting a 180 in his 4-1 win

Meanwhile on board two, Gary Deakin (23.89) put in a stirling performance, winning 4-3 in a tight game. Ian Cope (23.82) finished off the board winning 4-1, giving Weston a narrow 36-31 lead going into the pairs.

With it all to play for, captain Nick English and Rich Harris rode their luck and pulled out a 2-1 win, but Yeovil hit back with a 2-1 win. Deakin/Austen won 2-1 and Scrapper/Cope secured a 2-0 victory, sealing the victory.

Board one was finished off by Norton/Strong 2-0 in a very close game, as Weston came out 46-37 victors.

Cash4vans.com man of the match went to Ian Cope, just when the team needed victories. The next game is at the 49 Club in the upstairs function room against Taunton on October 24, all players and supporters welcome.
