WESTON started back after the Christmas break with a re-arranged league match against Taunton Civil Service.
They started confidently, putting the home side’s defence under pressure and forcing some great saves from their keeper. Unfortunately, a quick Taunton break and stand-in keeper Teresa Williams was beaten.
Undeterred, Weston kept the pressure on and fantastic play from Emma Whitehead and brilliant positional play from player of the match Sadie Sjogren kept Weston in control of the game and led to Jade Brown slamming home two deserved goals before the break.
Taunton came out fighting and Weston were onlookers in the second half. Complacency played its part and a lack of fight left Weston walking away with a 3-2 defeat.
