Weston water polo team gave their youngsters a run out in this narrow victory over Frome.

WESTON water polo’s senior section has started their pre-season friendly programme with a narrow 7-6 win over local rival Frome.

Frome brought along a full-strength side to Hutton Moor, but Weston used the game to give all of the now large and young squad much-needed game time before the season starts next month.

There were impressive performances by many of the junior players who were playing senior polo for the first time and coach Mike Coles is happy with their progress.

Duncan Edwards and Andy Simmonds returned from a few seasons away and many of the more experienced senior players had good games and were led well by captain Matthew Vincent.
