Second cup success for Selkirk
Selkirk United won their second cup of the calendar year after beating Weston St Johns Sports Bar in the final of the Hospital Cup.

SELKIRK came away with their second cup success of the calendar year after beating Weston St Johns in the Hospital Cup final.
Sports Bar flew out the blocks with most of the possession and chances in the early part of the game, but Selkirk got the breakthrough after good work from John Lewis and Andy Disley led to Joe Berry scoring from the edge of the box.

After the break, Selkirk doubled their lead when Berry set up Tom Irish for a simple tap in. Selkirk increased their lead when Mark Miller flicked the ball on for Ricky Taylor to score.
Sports Bar replied with a penalty, giving keeper Dan Hindmarsh no chance. A few minutes later Sports Bar scored again and Selkirk had to withstand some heavy pressure, but solid defending from Paul Miller and Daryl Hutchings kept their one goal advantage.

With 10 minutes to go, a surging run from Wes Bracey won a corner for Selkirk and Berry scored his second of the game directly from the kick. This made it 4-2 and a fantastic cup win for Rick Headon and his side.
