DORRINGTON opened the scoring at North Petherton when he spotted a chance down the blindside after Rousell’s long run from full-back after three minutes.
He converted the try himself and five minutes later Ward’s clean break through the middle was supported by Xanh, who darted over for the second try, again converted by Dorrington.
Hallett was yellow carded on 25 minutes after dangerous play at the line-out and from the resultant penalty, Pethy barged their way over. However, Hornets’ reply was swift and colts centre Bailey capped a fine debut with an unconverted try.
Two minutes later Hornets scored the bonus point try when Rukhadze’s excellent break led to a try for fly-half Sheppard. Dorrington added the extras for a half-time score of 26-5.
After Pethy had clawed back three points from a penalty, Brake touched down for after another powerful Rukhadze charge, Dorrington again kicked the conversion. Pethy claimed a converted try back before Vaughan scored the next try.
Petherton were awarded a penalty try to leave the score at 38-22 with 15 minutes to play. Greatbanks scored Hornets’ seventh try after a strong drive saw the big lock touch down for the second week running.
Vivian continues to impress at loosehead and Dillon enjoyed a strong game on the openside, but the match of the match award went to Danny Bailey.
