DESPITE the not ideal conditions, Weston Wheelers' speed merchant Mark Ashurst again won the Wednesday Weston Wheelers 10-mile time trial with a time of 21:36.He completed the course at an average speed of nearly 28 mph and thus extended his lead in the championship with maximum possible points from his seven starts. Second home of the club members, inconsistent veteran Steve Summer-hayes posted 23:08 averaging 25.94 mph and recorded a lifetime personal best that pushed Steve Chmiesliski into third by just seven seconds. Rich Harrison was fourth with 23:41 and another personal best. Meanwhile, Paul Burns bettered 26 minutes for the first time with 24:49, while almost unnoticed one of the club stalwarts Phil Pearce posted a personal best on 26:49.
