Cold winds and snow surprised anglers at Shiplate Farm’s open match.
WITH weather improving steadily all week and fish beginning to feed again, it was a surprise to be back to arctic winds and snow flakes at the end of the open match at Shiplate Farm.
The open match was held on the Main Lake and silvers were the only fish to be hooked. With close winning weights it was a tight match, but Steve Howell just pulled ahead with hooked pinkies at 13m on the pole.
Results: Steve Howell (peg 1a) 23lb 14oz; Paul Chapman (peg 4) 20lb 8oz. Silvers went to Tim Lewis (peg 6) 20lb 3oz.
