SOMERSET Rebels' general manager David Croucher has confirmed that Sky TV will be broadcasting live from the Oak Tree Arena on Tuesday, April 28."Everyone down here is absolutely delighted," said Croucher, "and we are all looking forward to putting on a great show in front of the cameras."The scheduled meeting will be Somerset Rebels v King's Lynn Stars in a Premier League fixture.Croucher continued: "Like so many things lately, this came completely out of the blue, and we have to thank Jonathan Chapman and all at King's Lynn for agreeing to come down on Tuesday instead of the scheduled Premier Trophy fixture on the Friday night. "My thanks go also to those responsible at Sedgemoor District Council for their immediate agreement to this alternative race night and to Ian Thomas at Workington for agreeing another fixture change, so that we can get the rest of the Premier Trophy meetings in by the end of May."I know, that on previous occasions, Sky has expressed an interest in broadcasting from the Oak Tree Arena, and for various reasons, it hasn't happened. Well, this is now written in stone, and I hope the TV viewing public will enjoy a thrilling meeting on the track that was voted track of the year by the Speedway Rider Association in 2008."It is always a great privilege to get on the TV and I sincerely hope that this meeting is not only a great advert for Somerset and the set up here at the OTA, but also a great advert for the Premier League."It is also a great tribute to the continual investment made by the Hancock family, the hard work done here at the track by our rafts of weekend volunteers, and I hope that everyone sees this meeting as a reward for their tremendous efforts."We will be working on ideas to attract a bumper crowd for this event, so please keep an eye on the Rebels' website and the Speedway Star to find out how to win free tickets and other prizes on the night."Premier League speedway does produce some fantastic meetings and I have the feeling that this encounter with King's Lynn will be one of them.
