YATTON'S travelling supporters were treated to a spirited performance when they visited St Ives.
The visitors added even more players to their squad and now have played more than 44 at first team level. The new boys fitted in well in an even fist half, with only three points the difference at the turn round.
After the break St Ives' player coach Morgan used his experience to expand their back play and they took the advantage as Yatton were, unfortunately, reduced to 14 players for 10 minutes. The hosts ran in three tries in the second half, but the score did not reflect the excellent commitment by the Yatton side.
This weekend Yatton 1sts play Cullompton at home, kick-off at 2.30pm. The game will be preceded by a vice-presidents' lunch.
Yatton 2nds had a good win against Oldfield, winning 40-10, and next weekend they play Tor at home and hope to move up to third place in the league, with a game in hand.
George Osborne, Yatton Colts and 1st team scrum-half, played for the England Colleges in Wales on Sunday and the England boys won 8-0. Yatton Colts play North Petherton this Saturday in a cup game away.
Zoey Cutts and Rhianon Tottle, both of Yatton Diamonds, play for the England Colleges next weekend at Murrayfield against a Scottish side.
